To camp with Trash Clan you will need to be vouched for by a member of the crew. Please, contact us through this site or a member of the crew for more information.
Trash Clan has adopted standard practices to ensure we continue to protect and maintain the areas we are allowed for our clan, family, friends, and other guests with-in any campgrounds, park or other venue we stay at for future generations as well as for the convenience and safety of all our campers.
Please note these are our rules, that are in addition to the listing of any campgrounds, park or other venue rules and regulations. Secondarily, any campgrounds, park or other venues rules do supersede any standard practice of Trash Clan should a standard practice of Trash Clan’s become in conflict with a campgrounds, park, or other venue rules and regulations.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have read the rules of any campground, park or other venue we are visiting. Know and understand those before you attend! If you still have questions, please contact us prior to any event.
First and foremost, YOUR MOTHER DOESN’T WORK AT ANY OF OUR GATHERINGS OR EVENTS, so clean-up after yourselves. As always, it is also appreciated when you assist the hosts in heavily trafficked areas of entertainment. (ie Empty plates, cups, cans, etc. laying around, please throw them away.)
You are responsible for your needs: food, beverages, sleeping accommodations (ie camper, tent, blankets, clothes, gas, propane), venue admission, fees of any kind.
Do not brandish any weapons nor have any illegal substances on your person.
We do rent a porta-potty for our area(s) at venues where close accommodations are not available. It costs money to maintain the porta potty.(ie. Cleaning, toilet paper, lights, freshners.) If you use it, help maintain it.
“Booty” donations to the clan for this convenience and other conveniences that we provide can be sent to our Virtual Bestowal Chest on the following page: Virtual Bestowal (trashclan.org) . Just click or scan the QR code. Cash donations can be accepted by any of the following: Ray Koehne, Alex Ortiz, Theresa Ortiz or Tracy Koehne.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to immediately revoke your visitation privileges at our event and/or in our camping areas should any of the following occur, intentionally or unintentionally:
-Disrespect, threats or poor behavior of any kind directed toward the hosts (Trash Clan), family, friends or other guests.
-Non-compliance to standard practices or venue rules and regulations.
ALCOHOL
Private venues have their own rules. Public display or consumption of alcohol is prohibited in parks leased or owned by the Federal Government, in all outdoor areas of the park. Please, review and understand the rules of venues (private and public) as visited
WEAPONS AND FIREARMS
Check with the park, campgrounds or other venue before you go. Handguns are not allowed in parks leased from the federal government, except by written authorization of the governing federal facility.
TENT CAMPING
Please, check-in with the Clan prior to or at the very least upon your arrival to find out where designated tent camping is allowed for your convenience and safety as well as to protect fragile plants and minimize soil compaction.
PARKING
Park only in designated areas to protect people, grass, plants and soil.
SIGNAGE
Pay attention to all signage (ie. Parking, speed limit, designated areas, fire lanes, street signs, directional information, emergency information, etc.)
WASTEWATER
Wastewater (both black and gray) can be discharged by a truck at The Texas Renaissance Faire by contacting Gunnels and Sons. Other than that, only with dump hook-ups provided by the venue or at designated dump stations.
Wastewater carries bacteria that can spread serious illnesses and food particles that can attract undesirable animals, including fire ants.
PETS
Protect pets and wildlife by keeping pets on leashes, no longer than 6 feet, at all times. Additionally, CLEAN-UP AFTER YOUR PET.
Please note: Pets are not permitted in any buildings at Texas State Parks. Remember to check with the (private or public) venue to know if pets are allowed.
CAMPFIRES
Be aware of any fire ban notices by checking with the venue, before your visit. Campfires are generally permitted only in designated rings to avoid ground scarring and wildfires. NO GROUND FIRES!
DISCARDING OF ASH AND OTHER CAMPFIRE MATERIALS
Discard only in receptacles clearly marked and intended for this type of debree. DO NOT THROW ASH, HOT COALS OR OTHER CAMPFIRE DEBREE IN A DUMPSTER.
DRONES
Review and understand the rules of the FAA and the venue.
LASER POINTERS
Review and understand the rules of the FAA and the venue.
COLLECTING, TREASURE HUNTING
Take only memories and photographs. Private venues own all of that encompassed in their land holdings. Federal and state laws prohibit collecting plants, animals and artifacts. Preserve the past for the future by leaving artifacts in place and reporting locations to campgrounds, park or other venue staff.
FIREWOOD
DO NOT GATHER FIREWOOD. Bring your own or purchase wood prepared, as firewood, from the venue or a neighboring store. Downed dead wood offers food and shelter to wildlife and provides essential nutrients for the soil.
GEOCACHING
Parks and other venues generally need to know about your caches. Please check with the venue before placing geocaches within a venue; especially considering rules and regulations with regard to digging.
HAMMOCKS
This is a subject that should be on the venue’s rules and regulations, please review and understand, before the event.
TRASH AND LITTER
Please recycle trash and other litter appropriately and deposit trash in dumpsters. Leaving no trace of your visit helps the campgrounds, park and our other venues remain beautiful and reduces the possibility of human/animal conflicts.
QUIET HOURS
Find out what the quiet times are for the venue we are visiting. Respect your neighbors.
NOTE: If you see an area that has been set-up for high traffic, music and other entertainment, DO NOT SET-UP BY THAT AREA.
SAFE DRIVING
Protect everyone in the campgrounds, park or other venue and wildlife by obeying speed limits and all other driving laws, and common sense.
SNAKES
Don't be afraid of snakes, be aware! They are signs of a healthy environment. If you cross paths with a snake, back away slowly and make others aware of the wildlife.
SWIMMING
Swim in designated areas only. It is highly recommended that children and weak swimmers wear personal flotation devices. Pets and glass containers are not allowed in swimming areas. Pets can create unsanitary conditions and may feel threatened by strangers. Broken glass can cause serious injury.
NOTE: You are responsible for your safety and that of those in you care; there are places we go that do note have lifeguards.
WILDLIFE
Keep wildlife wild. Do not feed or harass wildlife.
